Ecological responsibility is one of Dean’s core values, and they are committed to offering the most eco-friendly packaging on the market while ensuring the quality and freshness of your coffee. Both the one- and five-pound bags are PLA lined to protect the longevity of your beans. The one-pound bags are made of Biotre material from TricorBraun Flex, which sets the standard in the coffee industry for sustainable packaging. They are 60% compostable and 100% biodegradable. The five-pound Kraft paper bags are 100% compostable and 100% biodegradable; just remove the tin tie.

MEDIUM ROASTS
BIRDWATCHER’S BLEND
A smooth and nutty blend of Guatemalan Huehuetenango and Mexican Chiapas coffees from shade-grown farms; giving great taste while protecting critical migratory songbird habitat.
COLOMBIAN
A full-bodied, complex bean from the Sierra Nevada Mountains near Magdelena. The standard by which all other coffees are judged.
GUATEMALAN MEDIUM ROAST (Smithsonian Bird Friendly Certified)
Classic Central American flavor profile: clean sugar sweetness, smooth and nutty, with a touch of floral aromatics.
MEXICAN CHIAPAS
A mellow, sweet medium-bodied cup with low acidity. A great, comfortable cup any time of day.
MIGRATION CELEBRATION (Smithsonian Bird Friendly Certified)
Medium roasted coffee from Honduras. A real celebration of our commitment to protecting migratory birds and their habitat!
MOKA JAVA
The smooth, syrupy taste from Sumatra and the fruity, fragrant qualities of Ethiopian combined for this classic coffee. Dean’s unique twist on the original European blend.
PERUVIAN (Carbon Neutral) (Smithsonian Bird Friendly Certified)
The world’s first carbon neutral coffee! A medium roasted bean from Peru. We’ve calculated the entire carbon load from planting to drinking, and neutralized it with native hardwood plantings at Pangoa.
TIMOR ATSABE
A unique velvet roast with chocolate tones. This bold roast is the first single origin from East Timor, from the village of Atsabe.
UPRISING
Rise up singing with this soft and smooth blend of Honduran (hearty), Peruvian (sweet), and Nicaraguan (bold and dry).
DARK ROASTS
AHAB’S REVENGE
A powerful, yet sweet blend of robusta and Timor arabica beans. Beware: contains the highest caffeine content of any coffee Dean’s offers!
BERKELEY SHARK BITE
A snappin’ blend of dark-roasted robusta and Ethiopian formulated for our West Coast friends.
GUATEMALAN FRENCH ROAST (Smithsonian Bird Friendly Certified)
A dark-roasted bean from the Huehuetenango region of Guatemala. This coffee is medium bodied with a smoky flavor.
ITALIAN ESPRESSO ROAST
These high-grown beans from Honduras, Guatemala, and Nicaragua with some added robusta provide a rich, hearty flavor, analogous to a good burgundy. Pungent acidity and a robust, full body.
MARRAKESH EXPRESS
The fruity taste of wild-harvested Ethiopian blended with the passionate bite of Timor make for a strong and mysterious brew. Feel the rhythms in the corners of your mouth.
NICARAGUAN FRENCH ROAST
A strong and exceptionally smooth cup of coffee from the region of Segovia. Medium body and slightly dry.
ETHIOPIAN OROMIA
The best Ethiopian Sidamo makes for a smooth, strong, and floral roast.
RING OF FIRE
A dark, smokin’ blend of high-mountain beans from the active volcanic soils of Sumatra, Timor, and Papua-New Guinea. Eye-opening!
ROADHOUSE BLEND
Our truckers wanted a high test, low acid coffee to help them beat that white line fever. Dark-roasted Nicaraguan and Mexican help you go the distance!
SUMATRAN FRENCH ROAST
From Indonesia, probably the most full-bodied coffee in the world. A deep, earthy brew with low acidity and yet a spicy verve.
MEXICAN CHIAPAS FRENCH ROAST
From the Serranos De Motozintla Cooperative in Chiapas, this coffee is dark roasted to develop a full-bodied cup with notes of bittersweet cocoa. This is one of our smoothest dark roasts.
MEDIUM/DARK BLENDS
ARCTIC SUNRISE
The only coffee hearty enough to travel with the annual Greenpeace Arctic Expedition. A flavorful blend of Uprising and Ring of Fire.
AZTEC TWO STEP
A delightful blend of medium and dark roasted Mexican Chiapas. Smooth and nutty, with a bold finish.
COLD BREW BLEND
For the perfect Cold Brew, we’ve blended Colombian and Guatemalan French Roast coffees. This smooth cup stands on its own, but also holds up to cream and sugar. Instructions for cold brewing are on the label. Cheese cloth and ice cubes not included!
FULL MOON
A hearty, howling combination of light-roasted Central American and Timor beans, with a splash of Italian Espresso Roast.
MOKA SUMATRA
Combines the dry, rich cocoa undertones of hard bean Nicaraguan in a Medium roast with the full body of Indonesian Sumatran. Dean’s best seller, feels like silk on your palate. Wow!
